THE OLD WEBSITE
The graphics on the older website were used carelessly, lacking a coherent design in terms of color usage, element shapes, and even fonts. This has left a negative impression on the website's visitors. Upon analyzing user activity, it became evident that a majority of users did not scroll down to other sections such as blogs, watch on-demand content, and more. As a result, a significant portion of our homepage has become obsolete.
COMPETITORS RESEARSCH
As part of our competitive research, we delved into the websites of industry peers to gain insights into their branding and design strategies. However, we observed a striking pattern: our competitors' websites exhibited a uniform appearance, with identical color schemes, making it challenging to differentiate one from another.
Additionally, we noticed that their websites displayed a dated and uninspired aesthetic, lacking the modern and fresh look that we aspire to achieve. To ensure our brand stands out and distinguishes itself from the competition, we undertook extensive research to develop a unique and distinctive design and branding approach.
DESIGN SYSTEM
Our design system is the foundation of our brand, uniting core elements like buttons, icons, colors, and more. It extends beyond our website, meeting the needs of our entire brand.
I designed from scratch our new design system and the Adobe asset library. These resources drive our company's consistency, from our website to our landing page.
By using the design system we could achieve visual coherence and a unified brand identity.
NEW WEBSITE REDESIGN
Since more than 90% of our website traffic comes from desktop users, we decided to adopt a 'Mobile first' approach. As part of this initiative, I created a new design system that enables us to quickly and efficiently produce graphics, icons, and fonts with an organic look and feel.
Using this design system, we were able to address many of the issues we encountered with our previous website, resulting in a much higher performance score on Google (around 100) for both desktop and mobile devices.
My primary objectives were to build the design system from scratch, improve the overall UX of the website, and ensure a pixel-perfect and consistent design throughout every page.
MICRO-INTERACTIONS
I enjoy utilizing After Effects to craft motion-designed icons, elevating our website from a static experience to a dynamic one. In order to boost user engagement, I have implemented hover effects and short animations on icons, cards, and other website elements, making the browsing experience interactive and enjoyable.
IN CONCLUSION
Although the initial design of our website is complete, it's crucial to acknowledge that design is an ongoing process that never truly concludes. We remain dedicated to evolving and refining our website to ensure its relevance and efficacy in achieving our business objectives.
I'm thrilled that our current website design has proven to be a success, delivering impressive results in terms of traffic and user engagement. We continue to monitor and analyze these metrics closely to identify opportunities for improvement and to maintain our momentum towards achieving even greater success in the future.
